Why storm drains fail in Vancouver
The storm drain is the lateral pipe that carries surface water from your catch basins and roof leaders out to the City of Vancouver storm sewer. It silts up faster than most property owners expect, because every storm on the coast pushes another load of sediment, leaves, plastic, oil residue and road grit into it, and an atmospheric river concentrates a season of that into a couple of days.
